Who is Jesus?

"I am the way, the truth, and the life..."

- Jesus

The Bible is God's redemptive story, and it tells us that God created a perfect world with no sin, sickness, sadness, or suffering. In this world, God created the first people - Adam and Eve - to have a relationship with Him. In love, He gave them a choice whether they would choose to love Him in return or choose to disobey Him. Although He warned them of the punishment for disobedience, Adam and Eve chose to sin. This brought all of the heartache we experience (death, sickness, racism, hatred, murder) into the perfect world God created (Genesis 1-3). From Adam, we all inherited a sin nature (Romans 5:12). We have all chosen to disobey God's perfect law, and our sin must be punished (Romans 6:23). But God still loves us. His mission is to rescue and restore a fallen planet back into fellowship with Him and then recreate it into a perfect world where we can live in sinless community with Him once again. Jesus Christ is the One who makes that possible. Jesus is the perfect Son of God. He came to earth as a man and did what no other man could do - He never sinned. As a perfect man, He paid the punishment for our sin so we wouldn't have to. Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead, paying for sin and defeating death so that we could be forgiven and live with God eternally. Jesus offers the free gift of eternal life to anyone who believes on Him for salvation (Romans 6:23, John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9). God will one day return and live with those who believe on Jesus in a new creation where there is no sin, sickness, or heartache (Revelation 21:1-4)
